Genuine ZOLL Pedi-padz® II (8900-0810-01) | Pediatric AED Electrodes

The ZOLL Pedi-padz® II (Part #8900-0810-01) are the official OEM ZOLL AED pediatric pads engineered for the ZOLL AED Plus and ZOLL AED Pro. These specialized electrodes allow facilities to safely perform life-saving defibrillation on infants and children by automatically adapting the AED’s shock delivery and ECG analysis algorithms.

⚠️ Mandatory AHA Pediatric Guidelines

According to the American Heart Association, standard adult AED pads deliver too much energy for a small child. You must use ZOLL AED Plus pediatric pads for patients who are under 8 years of age or weigh less than 55 lbs (25 kg). Read our full legal and placement breakdown in our Guide to Pediatric AED Compliance.

🧠 Intelligent Energy Attenuation

The ZOLL AED Plus features intelligent pediatric capability. It does not require a separate pediatric key or switch. The moment you plug in the ZOLL Pedi-padz II, the AED automatically lowers the defibrillation energy (joules) to safe pediatric levels and adjusts its rhythm analysis for child heart rates.

⚡ Ensure Your AED is 100% Rescue Ready

Do you have everything you need for a sudden cardiac emergency? Facility managers should always stock backup adult pads and fresh lithium batteries alongside their pediatric electrodes.

Key Features of the ZOLL 8900-0810-01 Pedi-padz II

  • Anterior-Posterior Placement: Clear anatomical diagrams printed directly on the packaging guide rescuers to place one pad on the center of the child’s chest and the other on their back, preventing the pads from touching on small torsos.
  • 2-Year Shelf Life: Pedi-padz II provide a stable two-year standby lifespan. (Note: Facility managers must track this separately from the 5-year adult pads. See our Complete Facility Guide to ZOLL AED Plus Maintenance for tracking tips.)
  • No Hardware Resistors: Unlike older AED technology that uses bulky inline resistors to lower energy, the ZOLL AED Plus logic board handles the energy reduction internally, ensuring precise, accurate delivery without risk of hardware failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age or weight should I use ZOLL Pedi-padz II?
AHA guidelines state you must use pediatric electrodes for any child under 8 years of age or weighing less than 55 lbs (25 kg). If the patient is older or heavier, use the adult CPR-D padz. If you are unsure of the child’s exact age or weight during an emergency, default to the adult pads.
Do the Pedi-padz II provide Real CPR Help feedback?
No. Unlike the adult CPR-D padz, the ZOLL Pedi-padz II do not include a central accelerometer puck. Because pediatric CPR requires vastly different compression depths and techniques, the ZOLL AED Plus intentionally disables the audio CPR coaching when Pedi-padz II are connected.
How often do I need to replace ZOLL pediatric pads?
ZOLL Pedi-padz II must be replaced every 2 years, or immediately after a single emergency use. The expiration date is printed clearly on the outside of the foil packaging.
Where do you place the pediatric pads on a child?
Due to the small size of pediatric patients, standard front-placement can cause the pads to touch and arc. You must use an anterior-posterior placement: place the front pad in the center of the child’s chest, and place the back pad squarely between their shoulder blades on their back.
