How to Install SMART Pads II
1️⃣
Open Case
Remove the old pads case from the front of the AED.
2️⃣
Plug In
Plug the yellow connector of the new pads into the AED port.
3️⃣
Slide In
Slide the grey pads case into the slot until it sits flush.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need separate Pediatric Pads for the FRx?
A: No! The FRx is unique. You use these exact same SMART Pads II for both adults and children. To treat a child, you simply insert the Infant/Child Key (sold separately) into the front of the device. This lowers the shock energy automatically.
Q: What is the shelf life of Philips FRx pads?
A: These pads have a shelf life of approximately 2 years from the date of manufacture. The exact expiration date is printed on the front of the grey plastic casing.
Q: Can I open the pads to check them?
A: NO. Do not break the foil seal until a rescue is required. Opening the seal will dry out the conductive gel and ruin the pads.
Q: Can I use OnSite (M5071A) pads on an FRx?
A: No. The connector plugs are different. The FRx requires SMART Pads II (989803139261) and the OnSite requires SMART Pads (M5071A).
