The ZOLL AED 3 utilizes a high-capacity “smart” battery designed to ensure your defibrillator is always ready for a rescue. This disposable lithium manganese dioxide battery provides exceptional dependability and can deliver up to 140 shocks at maximum energy or 6 hours of continuous monitoring.
As a smart device, this battery does more than just provide power. It constantly monitors its own capacity and communicates directly with the AED 3. You can check the current power level at any time on the device’s LCD touchscreen or have the status automatically transmitted via WiFi to your AED program management solution.

How to Replace Your ZOLL AED 3 Battery
Minimal downtime is key. Follow these steps to ensure a successful replacement:
- Turn off the AED before beginning the replacement.
- Place your fingers in the wells of the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Squeeze the battery sides to release the latch and pull to remove the old pack.
- Hold the new battery pack by the side tabs.
- Lining up the notch on the battery with the shape on the AED, push into the compartment until you hear a click.
- The device will issue a voice prompt: “Battery has been replaced.”
- Verify that the status indicator window displays a Green Check.
